Anita Gayle Dunston

Anita Gayle Dunston (Knisley), 64, of London, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. She was born on March 1, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio, to the loving parents, Paul and Margie Lloyd. Anita's warmth and compassion touched the lives of everyone who knew her, leaving a legacy of love that will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. 

Anita was a proud graduate of London High School, Class of 1980. In 1981, she married her cherished partner, Edwin Dunston, and together they built a life filled with laughter, love, and countless happy memories. Anita’s nurturing spirit found its calling early on as she started her journey as a candy striper at Madison County Hospital. Her dedication to helping others continued throughout her years at the Madison County Board of Developmental Disabilities, MATCO, locally and in Columbus, where she offered care and support to many, embodying the essence of kindness.

Anita’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her children: Emily (Brandon) Timmons, Lynn Dunston, Melinda (Sebastian) Neighly, Angela Merriman, Shannon Martin, and Keith Freisner. She held her grandchildren close to her heart—Jeremy Dunston II, Mathew and Devon Bentley, Jasper Timmons, Abigail and Meliah Neighly, Joseph (Kylie) Harris, Christie Harris, and Erica (Jordan) Pyles—and looked forward to every cherished moment spent together, especially the joyful cookouts hosted at Emily and Brandon's home. Anita will be lovingly remembered by her brother Gary Lloyd, brother-in-law Rick Dunston, close friend Ann Mullins, numerous great-grandchildren, and a wide circle of relatives and friends. Anita was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin, and her dear parents. 

For those wishing to pay their respects, the family invites friends to gather at Lynch Family Funeral Home, located at 124 East High Street, London, Ohio 43140, on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A celebration of Anita's life will follow with a funeral service on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Anita will be laid to rest at Dennison Chapel, where her spirit will find peace among the loving memories of a life well-lived.
