Betty Maxine Kelly

Betty Maxine Kelly, beloved resident of London, Ohio, passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on March 25, 1929, she was the cherished daughter of George and Jennie (Jones) Kelly. 

Betty graduated from London High School in 1947, where she began to build a life characterized by dedication, service, and an infectious love for adventure. In 1952, she proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, earning a Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Ribbon, achievements that filled her with pride and a deep sense of honor for having served her country. 

Throughout her life, Betty developed a passion for the great outdoors. She relished the thrill of hunting and fishing, often finding peace and joy amid nature’s beauty. Above all, she treasured her family fiercely, creating lasting bonds and memories that will echo through generations. 

Betty is survived by her loving siblings, Sandy Darlington, Wilma (George) Ison, and Larry (Isabel) Kelly, alongside numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and hundreds of friends who were touched by her kindness and spirit. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents and her beloved siblings, William, George Jr., Richard, and Robert, as well as her dear brother-in-law, Richard Darlington.

In remembrance of Betty's vibrant life, her family will invite friends and loved ones to a graveside service on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Somerford Township Cemetery, located at 830 SR 56 NW, London, Ohio 43140.
