Betty Burwell Robertson Porter, a beloved member of the London community, will be remembered for her kindness, spirited enthusiasm, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. Born on April 30, 1940, in London, Ohio, Betty passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025, at the Bluebird Retirement Community, where she touched the lives of many.
Betty lived a life rich with love and laughter. She found joy in dancing, often twirling around the floor with her late husband, Bill Porter, as they participated in their local square-dancing club. She cherished the moments spent playing cards with friends at the senior center, where her warmth and camaraderie were always evident. Her generous spirit extended beyond her inner circle; Betty dedicated countless hours to volunteering at Madison Health Hospital and was an active member of the Madison Health Auxiliary, embodying her passion for helping others.
Betty's legacy will continue through her daughter, Annette Clevenger, and her grandson, Jerel Pickens. She is also survived by her dear sister, Edna Green, and her loving niece, Amy Green, along with nephew Terry Peters. Her family includes stepdaughters Ramona Porter and Sharon (Matt Cooper) Porter, grandson Aaron To, granddaughter Sharon To, and great-granddaughter Rosida To. Betty is now reunited with her cherished husband, Bill, as well as her sister Barbara Miles, son Rob Robertson, stepdaughter Rosida Porter To, and stepson Mike Porter, all of whom she held dear to her heart.
In honoring Betty's memory, her family invites friends and loved ones to gather for a memorial service at First United Methodist Church of London. This heartfelt celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, with visitation from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a service led by Pastor Dave Leckrone, commencing at 1:00 PM. Interment will take place at Kirkwood Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Betty's memory to The Madison Health Auxiliary, an organization she cherished.
The family wishes to extend their profound gratitude to Dr. Kaehr, Dr. Shikir, Dr. Madison, Madison Health Hospital, and The Bluebird Retirement Community for the exceptional and compassionate care provided to Betty during her time there.
