With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Carmella Renee Young, who departed this life on March 13, 2025, at Doctors West Hospital. Born on February 13, 1970, in Washington Court House, Ohio, Carmella was the cherished daughter of Robert Eugene and Gladys Garnett (Green) Denen Sr.
A proud graduate of London High School, Class of 1988, Carmella lived her life with a passion for family. She held her loved ones close, and family gatherings—especially during the holidays—were the highlights of her life. Carmella's enthusiasm extended to her love for football; she was a dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and often had spirited conversations about “that team up north.” Her interests included exploring her genealogy, and her pride beamed when she showed off the old trucks that adorned her driveway.
Carmella's legacy will continue through those who survive her: her beloved husband of over 30 years, Darin Young; her devoted mother, Gladys (Green) Denen; her children, Rebecca Sexton and Jacob (Mykayla Giehl) Sexton; and her grandchildren, Allyson Sexton, Malachi Young, and Micah Young. She is also survived by her brother, Robert (Theresa) Denen Jr.; her mother-in-law, Donna Hannah; sisters-in-law Lisa (Chadd) Myers and Dana (Jim) Wilson; brother-in-law Brad (Trudi) Young; and numerous nieces and nephews: Phillip (Misty) Denen, Dustin (Jennifer Scott) Denen, Lance (Ashton) Denen, LeAndra Denen, Erika (Thomas Barnette) Denen, Cameron Denen, Olivia (Zander Davis) Denen, Abigayle (Jace Collins) Denen, Caleb (Rachel) Allen, Kyle (Amanda) Allen, Ciera (Payton Cline) Navas, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends, including Robyn Napper and Ashley Davis.
Carmella was preceded in death by her father, Robert Denen Sr., as well as her beloved grandparents, Alvin and Norma Green and Eugene and Helen Denen. She is also preceded by her fathers-in-law, Paul Hannah and Frederick Young.
