Charles Ronald “Ron” Taylor
Goldsboro – Charles Ronald “Ron” Taylor, 81, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at UNC Wayne Health Care in Goldsboro. Ron was born in London, Ohio, on May 20, 1944, to the late Charles Stone Taylor and Helen Douglas Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Connie Lynn Taylor.
Ron is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jeannine Taylor; his son, Charles “Charlie” Crawford Taylor; and his grandson, Charles Nathaniel “Nathan” Taylor, who brought him great pride and joy.
Ron graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and later earned his doctorate from Duke University. Following his studies, he accepted a teaching position at Wayne Community College, where he devoted his entire professional career to educating and inspiring students. He retired after 34 years of dedicated service.
Deeply connected to his community, Ron served on the Arts Council Board and supported the Wayne County Public Library through their Quiz Bowl program. He was an avid reader and a lifelong learner, continually curious and always eager to explore new ideas.
Ron had a genuine love for the arts and was actively involved with Center Stage Theatre, as well as events benefiting the Wayne Community College Foundation. His participation in theatre productions and arts-related activities brought him tremendous fulfillment over the years.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Pleasant Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Ohio.
