Molt, Chester G. Age 96, of London, OH, passed away on Jan, 21, 2024. Chester was born to the late Chester Sr. and Florence (Hauck) Molt on April 16, 1927 in Columbus, OH. where he lived until moving to London, in 2002. He attended Columbus Central High and graduated from Grove City High School. Chester served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard LST 818 in the South Pacific during WWII. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan, of 37 years who died in 1986; his parents, and brothers Robert and Albert and Donald. Chester is survived by his partner of 35 years Glenna Samuels; his children Rick and Karen Molt of Centerville, OH, Christine and James Bischoff of Nevada, OH.; and Sister-in-Law Barbara Molt of Grove City, OH.; 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Chester retired from Ranco Controls in Plain City. He was an avid golfer and was a long time member of American Legion Post 105 in London, OH. where he served as head of their honor guard. Also, a member of the Scottish Rite Masonic Jurisdiction. A wonderful father and grandfather to his entire family, he will be sorely missed by all who knew or met him.
The family invites friends to call at Lynch Family Funeral Home, 124 East High Street, London, Ohio 43140, Wednesday, January 24, 2024, for visitation from 10:00am to 12:00pm, with the funeral immediately following at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Norwich Township, 3225 Dublin Road, Hilliard, Ohio, 43026.
