Florence Ann Persinger

Florence (Warfel) Persinger, 79, received her angel wings on December 26, 2020, after a lengthy battle of Parkinson’s Disease, surrounded by family at her home. She was born in Plumwood, Ohio, June 22, 1941. Florence was a retired school bus driver for Jonathan Alder School District. She was active with her bus colleagues in many social and fundraising activities. She was a member of Mechanicsburg Christian Fellowship Church, their first piano player when meeting in a house. Florence shared her musical talent playing for many church services, children’s’ musicals, weddings and singing with family around the piano. Best mom and Grandma ever, hauling kids to ballgames, swim lessons and Sunday School. Dedicated farmer’s wife, doing chores, driving tractors, and always homecooked meals. She loved all animals, but especially her cats. Florence was preceded in death by her parents Roger and Loa (Grewell) Warfel, and only sister and husband, Janet and Paul Brown; and one grandson, Brock Eichenauer. She is survived by her husband and childhood sweetheart, Robert Persinger, having celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this summer. Four children: Connie (Kent) Eichenauer, Daniel Persinger, Barbie (Bryan) Reed, and David Persinger. Seven grandchildren: Daniel Persinger, Chrissy (Blake) Moe, Brian (Laura) Ayres, Cheri Persinger, Kile (Ashley) Eichenauer, Jared (Alyssa) Ayres, and Becky Ayres. Nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, December 29, from 2:00-4:00pm and again at 6:00-8:00pm, with the funeral service on Wednesday, December 30 at 1:00pm at the Rader Lynch and Dodds Funeral Home in London.
