Floyd B. Hillman III passed away on June 19, 2026 at age 78. He was a resident of the Emory L. Bennett Veterans Nursing Home in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Floyd was born on March 16,1948 and raised in London, Ohio. As a youth, he passed newspapers. As a teenager, he played guitar and enjoyed listening to both classical music and rock.
As a young adult, Floyd became a weightlifter. He served in the U. S. Army which included two tours in Vietnam. He became interested in military history and became an expert in the subject.
After his military service, he became a security guard in Columbus, Ohio. He later moved to Port Orange, Florida, where he was employed as a security guard in a Florida government facility.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd B. Hillman Jr and Elizabeth (Libby) M. Hillman; and brother Matthew Hillman. He is survived by brother Willam Hilllman of London, Ohio; sister Ruth (Marland) Ellis of Beavercreek, Ohio; brother Scott (Beth) Hillman of Coopersburg, Pennsylvania; and sister Suzanne (Mario) Silva of Morrilton, Arkansas, as well as nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, Ohio, at a later date.
