Geraldine "Jerry" (Gordin) Reed, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, encircled by the love of her family. Born on May 26, 1932, in South Solon, Ohio, to Robert Aaron and Lela Blanche (Bainter) Gordin, Jerry's journey was one of love, resilience, and compassion. A graduate of South Solon High School, Jerry’s zest for life shone through her dedication to raising and nurturing her ten children. Her passion for family, friends, and community was unwavering. Jerry's faith was an integral part of her life, as an active member of the Grace Church in South Solon, Ohio. Known for her love of puzzles, reading, and spirited card games, Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether dining out or getting pampered by her family and listening to her beloved Cincinnati Reds. Her warm heart and effervescent spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love, survived by her children: Eric (Linda) Gordin, Jill Boggs, Marty Barker, Sheila (Tom) Swaggerty, Gayle (Chris) Gallas, Jon Todd (Heather) Reed, Barb (Curtis) Swaggerty, and Betsy (Nathan) Carner; sister, Beverly Tackett; grandchildren: David (Crystal) Chenault, Shaun (Colette) Chenault, Angela (Mike) Miller, Jeremy (Jae) Boggs, Ashley Toops, Derrick (Chelsea) Toops, Nathan (Chelsea) Swaggerty, Zachery (Amanda) Williams, Cody (Sarah) Williams, Justin Reed, Preston Reed, Kaytlynn Reed, Nikki Swaggerty (Cory), Brittany Swaggerty, Seth Swaggerty, Paige (Kyle) Griner, Mathew (Elizabeth) Carner, and Savannah Carner; a multitude of great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Napoleon "Jack" Reed, children Nadine Chenault and James Craig Gordin, brothers: Dale, Gail, and Max; sisters: Lois, Norma, Doris, and Martha; great grandchildren: Drew Howerton and Ava Couch, Jerry's memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were touched by her kindness. The family invites all friends and acquaintances to a gathering in celebration of Jerry's remarkable life at Grace Community Church, 7224 East Main Street, South Solon, Ohio, 43153, on Thursday, September 12, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Following this, a funeral service, led by Pastor Bruce Sigman, will commence, paying tribute to Jerry's life, love, and enduring legacy. Let us honor, remember, and celebrate the beautiful life of Jerry Reed, whose love and light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
