Harriet L Slifko

Harriet L Slifko, 76, of London passed away peacefully at home on December 21, 2021. She was the daughter of Joseph Nelson and Wilma (Frank) Douglas.

Harriet retired as a Personnel Officer with the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation (BCI&I) after 32 years of service with the Attorney General’s Office. She was an avid fan of the OSU Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, NASCAR and enjoyed the music of The Eagles and Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band. Her family was her world. When she was able, she attended her grandchildren’s games and activities, often being their biggest cheerleader from the sidelines. She loved spending time with her family and friends along with flower gardening and travelling.

Survivors include: her daughters Marci Slifko of Dayton; Stephanie (Brent) Johnson of Columbus; grandchildren Tyler Slifko, Kyle, and Emma Johnson; brothers Larry (Luanne) Douglas of Newark, Stephan (Lana) Douglas of Newark, brother-in-law Paul “Pete” Swick of Newark; numerous nieces, nephews, several special cousins, extended family; her beloved pet Ali, and her special friend Gene Good.

She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather Jack L. Douglas; sister Lynn Ann Swick and former husband Dwight J. Slifko.

Family invites friends to call at the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 E. High Street, London, Ohio, Tuesday, December 28, 2021 from 4pm to 6pm with a memorial celebration of life to follow at 6pm.

Harriet’s family and friends meant everything to her. She had a huge heart, full of wisdom and a feisty personality. She touched the lives of so many. She would not want tears to be shed but would say “this too shall pass”. Harriet would want happy memories and stories to be shared and cherished. She will be forever missed but always in our hearts.
