Jeremy “Jerry” Burr Alder (1956-2020), 64, of London, Ohio passed away suddenly on November 30th. Jerry was born in Danville, Illinois to the late Dr. Verne H. Alder who raised Jerry alongside his mother, Judith E. (Livengood) Alder-Howard. During his childhood, in Danville, Jerry was a Boy Scout where he was chosen by the Kickapoo Indian Hobbyist Association to perform the Eagle Dance. He also played pee wee football, little league baseball, and attended Danville City Schools, graduating in 1974. A few of his hobbies were spending time with his family, camping, and golfing with friends and family. He also counted down every year to the Indy 500 on Memorial Day weekend. Jerry will be deeply missed by his mother and stepfather, Ronald Howard; loving wife and best friend, Virginia (Fortman) Alder; children, Kristen (Benjamin) Arnold, Joshua (Danielle) Alder, Elizabeth Alder, and Jeremy Alder; grandchildren, Keylan Alder, Dylon Smith, Addelynn Alder, Emily Arnold, and Samuel Arnold; brother, Robin (Brenda) Alder; along with many friends and family members. A celebration of life will be held at Rader, Lynch and Dodds Funeral Home in London, Ohio on January 9, 2020, from 1 pm-3 pm with a prayer service at 3 pm. Jerry will be buried in Hillsboro, Indiana next to his father. Another celebration will be held at that time. Information on the latter will be announced in the coming months.
