Jerry Roscoe Hamilton, 79, of Springfield, died Sunday, November 12, 2017 in his residence.
He was born November 21, 1937 in London, the son of Reverend James C. and Mary E. (Collier) Hamilton. Jerry had been a professional bowler for more than 25 years, being inducted into the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame. Was a member of the Mechanicsburg Church of Christ in Christian Union and attended the Forest Valley Free Will Baptist Church in Springfield. Jerry was retired from Navistar and was an avid outdoors man, enjoying fishing and hunting. Above all else he loved his Lord and his wife of 62 years.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet (Cordell) Hamilton; daughters: Joni (Dick) Wickline; Joy (Steve) Miller; Jerri Barker; Jeane (Erwing) Martinez; brother: Jimmy (Mary Lee) Hamilton; grandchildren: Nathan and Bryan Miller; Kyle and Mitchell Martinez; great grandchildren: Noah, Bryson, Olivia, Gracelyn, Will, Elayna, and Mason Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson: Greg Miller.
A grave side service will held 2:00 PM. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Oak Hill Cemetery, London, with the Reverend Del Wallace officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 PM.
