Survived by her daughters Dr. Tammy Schakett and Kimberley (Scott) Hewitt, adored granddaughters McKenna (Matthew) Kelley and Samantha Hewitt. Sister Polly (Pami) Sandhu, Susie Zimmerman and outstanding nieces, nephews, and great nephews.

Preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend Richard (Dick) Hout, parents Robert and Lois Zimmerman, special siblings Bob Zimmerman and Ruth Ann Cunningham, and son in law Stuart Schakett and Larry Fleming.

Jo graduated from New London High School and pursued a career in nursing that she enjoyed for over 35 years. Her passion was to care for the ill and help them get well. She loved traveling the world with her best friend, Dick, and going camping with him. They had many, many memorable trips. Jo also cherished any and all time she spent with her super granddaughters Mac and Sami!!!

Funeral arrangements will be held at Lynch Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 2-4pm and 5-7pm. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 10:45am, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with the love of her life Richard (Dick) Hout.

Jo requests that in lieu of flowers a charitable contribution be made to the Alagille Syndrome Alliance, The Wounded Warrior Project, or Honor Flight Columbus Ohio.
