John Herbert Beekman

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Herbert Beekman, a beloved  father, brother, grandfather, and great- grandfather. John peacefully departed from this world on Tuesday, October 2, 2024, at the age of 84, in London. Born on January 11, 1940, to the late Lawrence Beekman and Rozella (Buzzard) Warner, he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

John was a graduate of London High School, graduating in the class of 1958. He had a passion for Nascar, Ohio State Football, and the Cobra Car Show, where he admired Ford Mustangs, particularly his own 1990 Ford Mustang. An avid workaholic and lover of yard work, John had a fondness for Celine Dion and made a point to support the Madison County Humane Society.

Above all else, John held a special place in his heart for his family. He found unmatched joy in spending time with all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Johnda (Bill) Beathard, his brother Tim (Deb) Beekman, sister-in-law Susie Beekman, grandchildren: Ashley (Tim) Winebrenner, Erica (Rob) Butler, Alicia Beathard; great grandchildren: Zaviar, Zaxtan, Zaydan, Zarak, Zawyar, and Zraikan Beathard, Natalie, Hailey, Bentley, Mollie, and Lincoln Winebrenner, and Robbie Butler. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence (Virginia) Beekman; Mother Rozella Warner; son Lane (Marlene) Beekman; grandson Zane Beathard; siblings: Mike Beekman, Hilda Beekman, and Blanche Swackhammer; Favorite dog Zoey.

A memorial gathering to honor and celebrate John's life will be held at Lynch Family Funeral Home, 124 East High Street, London, Ohio 43140, on Monday, October 14, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In memory of John, and in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Madison County Humane Society.

John Beekman will be dearly missed but forever remembered for his kindness, dedication, and the love he shared with those around him.
