With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Kathleen “Katt” Gencur, who left us on May 1, 2025, at Madison Health Hospital. Born on May 7, 1970, adopted by Susan Ewing, Katt was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of those around her.
For over eight years, Katt found her true calling as a home health caregiver, dedicating herself to the well-being of others with compassion and grace. Her joy was infectious, and she embraced life to the fullest. A passionate collector, she had an endearing affinity for dachshunds, wolves, Winnie the Pooh, Dodge Daytona Cars, and fiberoptic angels. Katt cherished moments spent walking in the park, fishing, shopping, and cooking. Recently, she fulfilled a lifelong dream by writing her first children’s book, titled *Stampers and Quackers Journey*, a testament to her creative spirit and love for storytelling.
Above all, Katt’s greatest delight came from her grandchildren, whom she adored fiercely: Lilly, Sereya, Avery, Elaine, Damian, Wyatt and Ellie. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Dan Gencur; her children, Josh (Jaylinn Bunn) Kampfer, Tasha (Chuck Weiner) Denney, and Jennifer (Charles) Reed; and her brother, Philip Kollar. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother.
A memorial gathering will be held in honor of Katt’s vibrant life on Thursday, May 8, 2025, 5:00- 6:00pm with a service to begin at 6:00pm, at Maple Street Church of Christ and Christian Union, 23 Maple Street, Jeffersonville, Ohio 43128.
