Larry Douglas Brown, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Mt. Carmel East Hospital, at the age of 76. Born on July 14, 1947, in Columbus, Ohio, Larry was the son of Floyd and Edith Brown.
A dedicated individual, Larry served in the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972 and later pursued a fulfilling career as a road driver for over four decades. His commitment to service extended to the community, where he volunteered as a firefighter for the Range Township Fire Department and played a pivotal role in establishing the first Madison County Emergency Ambulance service.
Larry had a deep passion for classic cars, with his most recent pride and joy being a 1954 Ford, and cheered fervently for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He found joy in the simpler things in life and cherished spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Peg Brown, his daughter Traci (Donnie) Glispie, his granddaughter Jessi (Jon) Wilson, his great-grandson Xander Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He now joins his parents, Floyd and Edith, along with his siblings James Brown, Carlotta Cutlip, and Arlen Brown, and numerous other family members who have gone before him.
Funeral services for Larry Brown will be held at Lynch Family Funeral Home on Thursday, May 23, 2024, where friends are invited to pay their respects from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. The ceremony will culminate with Larry's interment at Range Township Cemetery, where he will find eternal rest in the land he called home.
Larry's memory will forever echo through the hearts of those who knew him, leaving a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love that will be fondly remembered and celebrated. May he rest in peace.
