Lawrence Craig Horne passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on April 6, 1948, in Elkhart, Indiana, Larry was the son of George and Regina (Gebelein) Horne.
Larry graduated from Elkhart High School in 1966 and soon after enlisted in the United States Army. Serving in intelligence during his time in Germany and Turkey. He remained close with his fellow Army Security Agency members long after his service ended. Larry spent the first part of his career in sales and later became an electrician, where he specialized in large machine maintenance.Larry was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over twenty years, where he focused on recovery and support, inspiring others.A lover of photography and the great outdoors, Larry cherished long walks and enjoyed grilling. His soul resonated with the rhythms of Jazz and Blues, and he found joy in the humor of Mel Brooks' films, which he loved to share with those around him.
Larry is survived by his three children - Chad (Kathleen) Horne, Erica (Michael) Probst, and Erin (Daniel) McCallister and grandchildren: Alexander Hobik, Madeline Horne, Meredith Horne, Celia Probst, Isabella Probst, Charlie Probst, Magnus McCallister, and Roggen McCallister, as well as great-grandchildren Dylan and Thomas Hobik. He is also survived by his devoted partner, Linda Willis, and a wide circle of friends and relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Michael Horne.
