Linda Kay (Chaffin) Gaus

Linda Kay (Chaffin) Gaus, 78, of West Jefferson, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the Bluebird Retirement Community surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on February 22, 1946, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to the late Clyde and Hazel Chaffin.

After graduating from Chillicothe High School, Linda dedicated 25 years of her life for the state of Ohio where she worked in various positions including statistician. She was a respected leader and a lifetime member of OCSEA OBES/ ODJFS/ Medicaid Chapter 2599 and ODJFS Assembly. Linda found immense joy in caring for her family, especially her grandchildren, and cheering them on at their various sporting events.

Linda will be dearly missed and is survived by her daughters Michelle (Kevin) Horn and Deborah Burnett, brother Gary Chaffin, and her grandchildren Brian (Brook Matney) Horn, Jason (Allie) Horn, and Marissa Horn; Sisters- in- law Nancy and Ellen; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lawrence Gaus, son Greg Gaus, brothers Larry and William, sisters Saundra and Grace, brother-in-law Johnny, and sister- in- law Kay.

A funeral service to honor Linda's memory will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 10:00 am at Lynch Family Funeral Home, located at 124 East High Street, London, Ohio 43140. Deacon Dan Hann of St. Patrick Church in London, Ohio, will lead the service. Per Lindas wishes there will be a private burial.The family of Linda would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Bluebird Retirement Community, Affinity Hospice, and all the friends who provided care and support during her final days.
