Lois Ellen (Black) Robison

August 3, 1925 — February 3, 2025

Lois Ellen (Black) Robison, formerly of London, Ohio, died at Dublin Methodist Hospital on February 3, 2025 at the age of 99.  She is survived by daughter Ann Robinson, daughter Ellen (Nick) Hill, daughter-in-law Judy Robison; 7 grandchildren: Sarah (Brian) Scanlon, Jared (Laurel) Robinson, Julie (Matt) Hill, Doracy (Ron Bendy) Harrison, Matt (Heather) Robison, Chris (Abby Watson) Hill, Alex (Brynn Scheinberg) Hill; and 10 great-grandchildren: Brady and Connor Scanlon; Abby and Luke Robinson; Wyatt, Noah, and Owen Hill; and Will, Ellie, and Cora Harrison. Predeceased by husband of 53 years, William J. Robison, son Richard H. Robison, great-grandchildren Dale and Jesse Harrison, and late-in-life companion Ted Booth.

Lois lived a full and active life.  She was born in Rockford, Illinois on August 3, 1925, and graduated from the University of Illinois where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta social sorority.  It was at the University of Illinois where she met Bill Robison on a blind date when he was stationed at nearby Chanute Field.  They married in 1947 and moved to Bill’s hometown of London, Ohio where they enjoyed 53 happy years until his death in 2000.

In London, Lois was blood drive coordinator for the American Red Cross in Madison County and was also chairman of Madison County Heart Association Fund Drives and Memorial Chairman for many years. She also delivered Meals on Wheels.  She was active in the London Country Club, Coover Society, Madison County Hospital, and First United Methodist Church in London.

Over the years, she loved traveling all over the United States and around the world.  She felt lucky to have visited so many places during her lifetime.  She spent winters in Tucson for 20 years prior to moving to Brookdale Trillium Crossing in Columbus in 2020.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

A memorial service will be held at Brookdale Trillium Crossing on Sunday, February 9 at 1:30 pm.  Internment of ashes will be at Kirkwood Cemetery near London at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Red Cross or to the charity of your choice.
