Maria Uhlig, 93, of Garfield Heights, Ohio died December 25, 2016 at the Madison House in London, Ohio.
Maria Was born July 15, 1923 in Krefeld, Germany, a daughter of Wilhelm and Luise (Bauman) Klotz. She had a multitude of fond memories of attending Church with her family. She took pride in her gardening and her flower beds and her fruits and vegetables. She loved to knit and doing the New York Times Crossword puzzle. Loved to travel all over the world. She had been employed in Germany for close to 20 years in the textile industry. Maria was a homemaker here in the states.
Survivors include daughter, Margitta (Andrew) Taylor of London; sister: Charlotte (Max) Otto; brothers: Wilhelm (Friedel) Klotz; Heinz (Grete) Klotz; granddaughter: Lee-Anne (John) Harris; great grandchildren: Natasha Louise, David Andrew, Hans Michaels; nieces and nephews: Ingrid (Rolf) Egner, Marie Luise, Birgit, Gabrielle, Heinz-Peter. Dear friends and neighbors: Edward and Ann Foley.
Mrs. Uhlig was preceded in death her parents; husband: Hans Uhlig; sister: Anne-Lise Uhlig; sister and brother-in-law: Gerta (Heinz) Meyerhofer.
A gathering of family and friends was to be held at a later date.
