Marie Parks lived a life filled with dedication, love, and joy until she peacefully passed away at The Bluebird Retirement Community in London, Ohio on June 6, 2024. Born on November 29, 1927, in Lucasville, Ohio, to Hurston and Rushia (Preston) Griffith, she has left a lasting mark on those who were fortunate to know her. After graduating from Madison Rural High School in 1945, Marie embarked on a career that spanned 43 years with the Madison County Clerk of Courts. She was a member of various esteemed clubs and organizations, which included 20th Century Club, Madison County Republican Women’s Club, State of Ohio Clerks Association, and Eastern Star where she was a 69-year member and past Matron. A devoted reader, she found solace in the written word and cherished her vacations by the beach, reveling in the beauty of the ocean. Marie's love for her great-granddaughters' sporting endeavors was unmatched, with her attendance at their softball and volleyball games a testament to her unwavering support. She adored witnessing their triumphs and celebrating their victories, basking in the joy they brought her. Survived by her daughter Linda Holloway, her grandchildren Troy and Brian (Rebecca) Holloway, her great-grandchildren Taylor, Ericca, and Josh (Rebecca) Holloway, and her great-great-grandchildren Jacob, Ava, Jaxson, and Nathan, and sister in law Gladys Griffith, Marie's legacy will continue to thrive through the generations to come. She is now reunited with her parents, her husband of over 55 years, Kermit F. Parks, her son James K. Parks, and her siblings Jewel (Lealon) Henry, Edward Griffith, and Kathleen (Bill) Murdock. A celebration of Marie's life and legacy will be held at Lynch Family Funeral Home, 124 East High Street, London, Ohio 43140, on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm, followed by an Eastern Star Ceremony. The funeral service, to be conducted by Pastor Rick Clos, will take place on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at 11 am at Lynch Family Funeral Home, followed by her interment at Kirkwood Cemetery. It is with love and remembrance that we honor Marie's life, cherishing the moments shared and embracing the memories that will forever reside in our hearts.
