Mark Wesley Colvin

Mark went peacefully home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 9, 2026, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.

Mark is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Rhonda Rhodes Colvin; mother-in-law, Margie “Memaw” Rhodes; children, Mark (Heather) Colvin, Amanda (Chris) Villerot, Ronald Colvin, Matthew (Brian) Mannion, Joshua (Natalie) Colvin, Shawn (Amanda) Nelson; grandchildren, Mia, Rory, Claire, Graham, Dean, Siobhan, and Naomi; siblings, Donna Moyer, Steve (Abby) Colvin, Edith (Richard) Joyner, and Randall (Christine) Rhodes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Donald Colvin; father-in-law, Ronald “Papaw” Rhodes; siblings, Elizabeth Dillabough and Donald Colvin Jr.

His faith in the Lord was the foundation of his life. He loved Jesus Christ and trusted in God’s promises, and his faith was evident not only in his words, but in the way he lived. While we grieve his absence, we take comfort in knowing that he is now home with his Savior—free from pain and suffering and in the presence of the Lord he loved.

Above all else, his family was the absolute delight of his life. He treasured every moment with his wife, children, grandchildren, and loved ones. Their laughter, their milestones, their time together, and simply having them near brought him immeasurable joy. And as a Papaw, he was the very best. He loved his grandchildren fiercely and delighted in watching them grow. His love for them was one of the greatest joys of his life, and they will carry that love with them always.

He was also a lifelong New York Yankees fan, and if there was a game on, there was a good chance he was watching. The Yankees were a lifelong love, woven into countless memories and conversations with his family—especially with his boys. We can only imagine the welcome waiting for him in heaven—and whether he’s already found a good seat for the next Yankees game.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the promise of his faith: this is not goodbye forever. We know he has gone home to the Lord, and we look forward to the day we will see him again. His life was a gift. His faith was his legacy. His love for his family will live on in all of us. “To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 5:8

The family invites friends to call at Cypress Church – London Campus, 2343 US-42 N, London, Ohio 43140, on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 6:00–8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the church on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Jody Pickett officiating. Interment will follow at Somerford Township Cemetery.
