Mark Harvey Rutherford

Mark Harvey Rutherford, cherished brother, avid sports enthusiast, and devoted family member, passed away on May 29, 2025, at Mount Carmel Grove City. Born on February 9, 1956, in Columbus, Ohio, Mark was the beloved son of Homer “Red” and Ellen “Rosie” (Archer) Rutherford.

A proud graduate of London High School, class of 1974, Mark dedicated over two decades of his career to Nationwide, where his commitment and hard work shone brightly. Mark was a pillar of strength and joy for his family, always ready with a kind word or a warm smile. He had a passion for sports, particularly for the Cincinnati Reds, where his enthusiasm knew no bounds. In quieter moments, he found solace and joy in the harmonious melodies of Points of Grace Singers.

Mark leaves behind a loving sister, Marla (Jack) Turvy, an aunt and special caregiver, Sylvia Isaacs, and nieces Leah (Vince) Cirivello and Allison (Adam) Wilson. He treasured his great nieces and nephews, Anthony and Samuel Cirivello, and Amelia and Abram Wilson, who brought him immense joy. Mark was preceded in death by his parents and several beloved family members, including aunts Betty Bush and Dolores (Herbert) Wisecup.

Family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lynch Family Funeral Home, located at 124 East High Street, London, Ohio 43140. A funeral service celebrating Mark’s life will be held the following day, June 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Lynch Family Funeral Home, followed by interment at Range Township Cemetery.

In honor of Mark’s memory, the family requests that donations be made to the Newport Church of Christ and Christian Union Building Fund, reflecting his deep faith and commitment to his community.
