Michael Edward Hackett, age 58, of London, departed this life on December 29, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 11, 1966, in Urbana, Ohio, he was the cherished son of David T. and Ann J. (Welsh) Hackett.
A proud 1985 graduate of London High School and Tolles Technical Center, Michael excelled in his passions for Cross Country and Track. His love for 4H also blossomed during his youth, culminating in his recognition as the Madison County Fair King. This love for 4H inspired him to foster similar passions in his son, niece, and nephews, as he took great joy in guiding them through their projects.
Michael dedicated much of his life to caring for others, receiving his medical assistant certification from Tolles Technical Center. His career in healthcare allowed him to make lasting connections with patients and colleagues alike at Madison County Hospital and various nursing facilities and doctor’s offices. His vibrant personality and quick wit endeared him to many. He was often remembered for his famous "Goop," a delightful crockpot chip dip, and his beloved green bean casserole.
A loving family man and friend, Michael was always looking out for those he loved. He was a long-time member of the FOE #950, where he cherished the camaraderie and joyful moments spent with his friends.
Michael is survived by his beloved mother, Ann Hackett; sons Joshua (Marlene) Hackett and Tyler Hackett; siblings David T. Hackett Jr., Barbara (Mike) Lynch, Mary Beth (Joy McFadden) Hackett, Bill Hackett, and John (Amy) Hackett; grandchildren Kimberlee and Reese Hackett; nephews and niece David and Liz Lynch, Spencer Hackett, JT and Joseph Hackett; as well as many cherished cousins and special friends. He is preceded in death by his father, David Hackett Sr., and his beloved grandson, Kaiden Hackett.
In celebration of Michael's life, the family will welcome friends during calling hours at Lynch Family Funeral Home, located at 124 East High Street, London, Ohio 43140, on Saturday, January 4, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A heartfelt funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM.
