Robert Lee Russell III

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Lee Russell III, lovingly known as Trey, who left us on November 2, 2025. Born on December 13, 2003, in Columbus, Ohio, Trey was a vibrant young man whose spirit and warmth touched the lives of those around him. He was the cherished son of Robert (Katie) Russell Jr. and Leslie Scales. 

Trey was a proud graduate of London High School, Class of 2022. His love for life was evident in his passions; he thrived in sports, particularly basketball, and found joy in gaming and the thrill of competition, often betting and winning on FanDuel. Music filled his heart, and his artistic talents shone brightly as he taught himself how to tattoo. Trey's creative side was complemented by his career at Brookdale Pinnacle, where he worked as a transport coordinator and concierge, always ready to lend a helping hand. 

Described by many as a peacemaker, Trey had an inherent ability to connect with everyone he met, spreading kindness and love. He held a special place in the hearts of his family, and his absence will be deeply felt. 

Trey is survived by his loving parents, Robert (Katie) Russell Jr. and Lesley (John) Scales. He leaves behind his cherished siblings: Makiah Russell, Destiny Scales, Gabriel White, Izaiah Bates, Bishop Scales, Sophia Scales, Braxton Scales, and Aviannah Scales. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Angela (Chester) Jackson, Carol White, Jimmy Little, and Eugene Kinney, as well as his nieces and nephews, Miyanna, Marianna, Malayah Carter, and Lavender Carner, countless aunts and uncles, and many close friends who were like family to him. 

Trey is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents: Robert Russell Sr., Robert White, and Sherry Kinney, and nephew Liam Carner. 

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Trey's life on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Visitation will be held at Lynch Family Funeral Home, located at 124 East High Street, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lynch Family Funeral Home in Trey's memory by selecting the donation option available on his obituary page. Your support during this difficult time is sincerely appreciated.
