It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruby R. Cave, who departed this life on October 14, 2025, surrounded by the warmth of her loving family. Ruby was born on July 13, 1934, in Greenfield, Ohio, to Ralph and Aletha Rittenhouse.
A devoted member of The Lafayette United Methodist Church, Ruby was known for her generous spirit, contributing to the Boys and Girls Club of Columbus and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Ruby’s passion for creativity and connection flourished during her career as a hairdresser, where she owned and operated her beloved salon, The Ritz, in downtown London.
Ruby cherished her family above all else. She will be remembered for her unconditional love, especially for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whose laughter and joy were her greatest treasures. She is survived by her sons Rodney (Lisa) Cave and Randy (Diane Oyer) Cave, brother Raymond (Judy) Rittenhouse, grandchildren Amber (John) Riley, Lacy (Ty Dowler) Cave, Christopher Fooce, and Rehanna Fooce, great grandchildren Ava Riley, Griffin Riley, Scarlett Riley, Grayson Riley, Crew Riley, Josie Dowler, Ruby Dowler, and Maggie Dowler, numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruby is predeceased by her parents, her devoted husband Jack, and her beloved granddaughter Magan Cave, as well as her sisters Mary Haines, Elsie Howard, and Donna Pruitt.
The family will welcome friends for a time of remembrance at the Lynch Family Funeral Home, located at 124 East High Street in London, Ohio, on Monday, October 20, 2025. Friends may call from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, with a funeral service commencing at 3:00 PM. Following the service, Ruby will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made at the funeral home or through the donation tab, honoring the exceptional care provided to Ruby by so many. A heartfelt thank you is extended to the dedicated staff at Madison House for their compassion and support during her later years.
As we gather to celebrate Ruby’s life, we will carry her presence in our hearts, reminding us of the love, laughter, and light she shared with all who knew her.
