Evans, Russell J. 1938-2021 Russell J. Evans, age 82, of Choctaw Lake, London, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2021. He is preceded in death by his wife Evelyn (Wood) Evans; parents William R. and Catherine Evans; sisters Dorothy, Joan, Margaret, and Janice. He is survived by children Mark (Lori) Evans, Chris Wetzels, and Shira (Dave) Elder; grandchildren Matthew (Jordyn), Michael, Alyssa, Carlin, Macey, and Justin; great-granddaughter Hudson; many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Russ grew up in Obetz, Ohio. He retired from Columbia Gas of Ohio after 30 years of service in payroll accounting. He loved golf, camping, and later taking the kids/grandkids out on his boat on Choctaw Lake. Russ enjoyed spending time with friends at the London Eagles, having a good laugh. Visitation hours will be held on Sunday, February 28 from 1-3 pm at the Lynch Family Funeral Home, 124 E. High Street, London, OH. There will be a short memorial service at 3 where tales of his ornery self and antics are hoped for. Social distancing and masks will be required. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
