Shirley Faye (Toops) Day

Shirley Faye (Toops) Day 75, of South Vienna, passed away surrounded by her family on May 23, 2026. She was born September 13, 1950.

Shirley was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was her family. She was most proud to be a mom. Shirley had a big heart and a wonderful sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. Making people laugh was her superpower. Shirley also had a deep love for animals, especially her horses, cows, and dogs. She had a special way with animals, and they trusted her instantly. Her beloved dog, Zip, held a very special place in her heart.

She is survived by her children, Chad (Stacy) Day and Kelly (Jeremy Hoffman); her grandchildren, Grace (Nate) Armentrout, Raegan Hoffman, Cody (Valerie Weygandt) Day, Paige (Jerod Holland) Gartin, Kelsey Gartin, and Montana Day; and several great-grandchildren, including Fay, Roxy, Mason, Paityn, Maycie, Brentley, Jordan, and Jersey. She is also survived by her sisters, Sara (Phil) Kerns, Tammie (Tom) Dingledine, and Manelle Carsey, her sister-in-law, Connie Toops; her brother, Doug (Marlene) Toops; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon and Grace Toops; her brother, Mike Toops; and her beloved dog, Zip.

Calling hours will be held Friday, May 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Lynch Family Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help cover the expenses of herservices. Shirley will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
