William "Billy" Eugene Hammons

William “Billy” Eugene Hammons, 83, of London, died Friday, January 8, 2021 in his residence. Billy was born February 9, 1937, in London, Ohio, the son of Henry and Bertha (Riffit) Hammons. He had been employed by Gantner Screw Products in Springfield for many years. Billy was an outstanding pool player, loved to fish, and going to the horse races at Scioto Downs, and loved his ‘scratch off’ lottery tickets. He visited his daughter every day and loved his Cincinnati Bengals. He is survived by children: Brenda (Gene) Dennen of London; Lonnie Hammons of London; brother Donnie (Harriett) Hammons of Lafayette; grandchildren: Joshua Shawn Hammons, Brian Wayne (Erica) Johnson, Gregory Allen Hammons, Mandy Dawn Johnson, Patricia Nicole “Niki” Hammons (Anthony) Cogossi, Andrea Ruschelle Hammons (Josh) John, Michael Eugene (Brittany) Hammons; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He has been preceded in death by his parents; wife: Josi Geneva (Sparks) Hammons; son: Jack Allen Hammons. Billy’s family invites friends to call at the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 124 E. High St, London, Thursday, from 10-11 am, with a funeral service to follow at 11 am, with the Reverend Jerry Poff officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, London.
