William "Bill" Eugene Moody

William “Bill” Eugene Moody Jr., 80, of London, died peacefully Saturday, June 3, 2023, at his residence. Bill was born July 14, 1942, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the son of William Eugene Moody Sr. and Mildred Louise (Miller) Moody.

Bill, who was given the nickname Willy Poop by his mother, was a 1960 graduate of Mt. Sterling High School. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the Army National Guard where he served for over 8 years. At a young age Bill became a lover of animals and was called Dr. Doolittle by some of his family. He loved to sit on his front porch feeding the squirrels and birds. He was very trusted by them and would occasionally have a bird perch on his knee or a squirrel circle around him wanting fed. Bill was a generous, selfless man that would literally give the shirt off his back to anyone as he knew no stranger. He deeply cherished his family and was loved by all. He has been his brother Brad’s caretaker for the past 18 years. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing, cars, eating at Sumburger, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Also, he was no doubt the Cleveland Browns biggest fan…no matter how bad their season was.

Bill is survived by his children: Michelle (Mike) Marcum and Curtis (Jessica Robinson) Moody; Siblings: Carol Ginther, Diana (John) VanDine, Gerald (Brenda) Moody, Deborah (Gary Mayes) McClain, Marla (John) Stouffer, Kevin Moody, Michael Moody, Brian (Jan) Moody, Steve (Alicia) Moody, Bradley Moody, and Becky (Sommer) Moody; Half siblings: Kevin, Tony, Amber, Carrie, and Annette; Grandchildren: Haylee (Tom) Mawer, Aj Lindquist, and Chase Lindquist; Great grandchild: Joey Mawer; Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; Very special friend: Sandy Vincent

Bill is preceded in death by his Parents; sister: Carla Payne; Numerous aunts and uncles.

The family invites friends to call at The Lynch Family Funeral Home, 124 East High Street, London, Ohio 43140, from 5:00pm- 7:00pm, on Friday, June 9, 2023, with the funeral service to follow at 11:00am, on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Lynch Family Funeral Home.
