Barbara Ann Nelson, a lifelong resident of London, Ohio unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday May 18th, 2021.
Barbara came into this world on a windy, chilly day, on March 22, 1956. Barbara was born to Paul E. and June Anne (Slattery)Nelson. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Paul 1995, June 2017, brother Jimi 2001 and brother-in-law Vernon Baker 1998. Barbara is survived by her brother Richard (Leslie) Nelson, her sister Nancy Baker, and her sister Carol (Jeffrey) Terry. Barbara is also survived by niece, Amy Nelson, and nephews Bradley Nelson, Jason ( Amanda) Baker, Richard (Missy) Baker and Andrew (Briana) Terry. Barbara also leaves behind several great nieces and nephews as well as several loving cousins.
Barbara was a graduate of the London High School Class of 1975. Barbara was also a member of Iota Beta Chapter of Phi Beta Phi Sorority and the Madison County Republican Women’s Club. Barbara was a longstanding member of the London Presbyterian Church. Barbara had the heart of a giving servant of the Lord and freely and happily volunteered her time whenever the church needed help. While Barbara had many strengths she was fondly thought of as a quiet, meek soul, pleasing in spirit, personality and demeanor.
Barbara worked at the London Branch of Bank Ohio, Madison County Clerk of Courts, was City Auditor for London, and worked at Madison County Board of Elections. Barbara selflessly semi retired to lovingly care full time for her mother June in her aging years. After her mother’s passing, Barbara returned to the workplace and at the time of her passing, Barbara was working for the Madison County Deputy Clerk’s Office.
Barbara was dearly loved by her family and friends and leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved her, she will surely be missed.
Barbara’s family will have a time for friends and family to show their respects on Thursday, May 27th, 2021. Visitation will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Lynch Family Funeral Home located at 124 E. High Street, London, Ohio, with memorial service to follow with Steve Watters officiating. An internment for family will then be held at Oak Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The First Presbyterian Church of London or Madison Health.
