Charles Lee Putney, 89, of Plumwood, died Thursday, August 12, 2021, at the Bluebird Retirement Community, London. He was born November 26, 1931, in Apple Grove, West Virginia, a son of Hobert Lee and Katie Veda (Bright) Putney. Charles served in the United States Navy from 1953 through 1957. He had retired from General Motors after almost 40 years of employment. He is survived by daughters: Diana (John Obora) Putney of Columbus; Debbie (Aaron Dozier) Putney of Galloway; son: David (Sharon) Putney of Raymond, Ohio; sisters: Mae Spears and Mary (Paul) Spears, all of Ravenden, Arkansas; grandchildren: Bethe (Jay) Putney-Sands, James Haskins, Hannah, and Collin Putney, Joshua (Stephanie) Foster, and Jennilee (James) Swackhamer; great-grandchildren: Riley, Katelynn, Joshua Foster; Jordan Swackhamer; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Putney was preceded in death by his parents; spouse: Bonnie (Willams) Putney; son: Jon; granddaughter: Alexandra Elizabeth Putney; nephew: Larry Christian; nieces: Susan Spears; Sonja Swain. Friends are invited to call at the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 E. High Street, London, Wednesday, August 18, 2021, from 5-8 PM., where a funeral service will be held Thursday, August 19, 2021, 11:00 AM with the Reverend Rick Yutzy officiating. Interment will follow in the Plumwood Cemetery, Plumwood, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Ohio’s Hospice Loving Care, 56 S. Oak St, London. The family has respectfully requested that those planning on attending the services please plan on wearing masks, due to the age of some of the family members.
