Gene Bussey Obituary

Gene Franklin Bussey, 87 went home to the Lord on October 27, 2020. Born on May 5, 1933, in the same house which he passed in Florence Switch, Madison County, Ohio. He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland Bussey and Dema Esther Tatman Bussey. He loved spending time with family, especially the great-grandchildren, gardening, and cheering for The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. He retired with over 30 years from Cooper Energy in Springfield, Ohio. He served in the United States Army. He loved working in the fields with the Finney's. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn Frances Potter Bussey who he married on June 12, 1960; his children: Raymond (Debra) Bussey and Donna (Ray) Long; grandchildren: Kevin (Nicole) Long, Cindi Long, Brandon Long, Ashli (Jason) Nusser and Amanda Bussey; great-grandchildren: Kylee and Kaleb Long, Caden and Alexandar Presley, Zoey Castellanos; Kylee and Wyatt Nusser. Also survived by siblings: Paul Bussey, Elsie Windle, Kathy Samson, and Linda Lowe; sisters-in-law, Jean Anne Bussey and Alice Bussey; brothers and sisters-in-law; Connie Toops, Sharon Potter, Linda Price, John Potter, David (Debra) Potter and Pat Potter, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Duane Cleveland Bussey; daughter, Ruth Ellen Bussey; granddaughter, Miranda Renee Bussey; siblings, Glen Bussey, Marion (Norma) Bussey, Chester Bussey, Herb Bussey, Walter (Lois) Bussey, William Bussey, Raymond Bussey Puckett, Donald Bussey, Marie (Chet) Finney, Lois (Charles) Earles, and Esther Bussey; Mother-in-law and husband, Ruth Cummins Earley (Ernie), Father-In-Law and wife, Lloyd Potter (Myrt), sister-in-law Debra Bussey and brothers-in-law, James Potter, Paul Windle and William Toops. The family invites friends to call at the Rader-Lynch & Dodds Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 E. High Street, London, Saturday, from Noon until 2:00 PM., with a funeral service to follow, with Reverend Denny Tatman officiating. Interment service will follow at the Kirkwood Cemetery, London.
