Henry “Slim” Hayslip, 78, of London, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Madison Health, London. He was born January 6, 1943, in Lewis County, Kentucky, the son of Paul E. Hayslip and Dorothy Clark. He had retired as a mechanic from Ed’s Towing and Garage. His greatest joy was to be able to spend time with his family.
Mr. Hayslip is survived by his wife of almost 54 years, Trudie Carlenna (Coffenberger) Hayslip; children: Melinda Smalley of Washington Court House; Melissa (Hallie) Smith of Chillicothe; Candy (Johnny Blair) Burchett of Jeffersonville; Paul (Cindi) Hayslip of London; siblings: Bonnie (Chuck) Hutchinson of California; Jimmy Noble of Columbus; Grandchildren: Seth and Cody Smalley, Matthew (Chelsea) Smith, Tiffany (Brian) Young, Michael (Hannah) Smith, Brittany (Calvin) Cunningham, Megan Green, Makayla White, Brianna Burchett, Sarah Burchett, Olivia Hayslip, and Allysha Sanders. Great Grandchildren: Sebastian Smith, Areolynn Smith, Lila Lin, Jr. Young, Nevah Cunningham, Ava Cunningham, Ayla Cunningham, Chase Bowen, Kamdin and Camdin Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Sisters: Wilma Knisley, Donna Roseberry, Mary Reisinger, and Margaret Byerly. Brothers: Bill Hayslip and Chet Alexander. Sons in law: Cecil Smalley and Tim White. Grandchildren: Cheyanne, Little Angel, and Jacob Smalley, and Annie Sullivan.
Henry’s family invites friends to call at the Newport Church of Christ and Christian Union, 6800 State Route 38 SW London, Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 5 PM to 7 PM. where a funeral service will be held Friday, June 25th at 11 am with Pastor Justin Sterrett officiating. An interment service will follow at the Paint Township Cemetery, London.
