June Ellen (Rea) Peters joined her husband Charles on February 23, 2022, on what would have been their 59th wedding anniversary. Born December 19, 1943, in London, Ohio the daughter of Donald and Mildred (Wentz) Rea. A 1961 graduate of London High School. June worked for the Madison County Auditors Office as a deputy auditor for 18 years, serving under Raymond “Max” Weimer and Jim Williamson. Before the decline of their health, June and Charles enjoyed traveling. They enjoyed their trip to Alaska with Bob and Bev Turvy, visiting with Pat and John Taylor in Tennessee and Florida, taking the train to see their daughter, Deanna and Jeff Loudon in San Francisco, California, and then to New York City when they moved, fishing and camping with Harold and Betty Sebastian, and attending the many Naval reunions with Charles shipmates.
June was a strong woman who took care of her husband, while her own health was declining. June loved being a mother, grandma, and great- grandma. Her love for us made her fight even harder to survive, but her body was slowly failing due to complications from colon cancer.
She is survived by her children: LeeAnn (Jason) Robertson, Deanna (Jeff) Loudon, Chad (Molly) Peters; Grandchildren: Tiffany (Megan Garland) Brock, JJ and Ally Robertson, Olivia and Lillian Loudon, Colten Winters, Eli (Erin) North, and Charley Peters; Great Grandchildren: Alina Brock and Emmalee and Natalie Garland. Family and special friends that helped June and Charles over the years: Bob and Bev Turvy, Betty Sebastian, John and Shelley Hopkins, Pat and Vicki O’Neil and Family, Dick and Patty Snyder, Emily Beck, and the late Gary Groves.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, and her brother William “Bill” Rea who died January 2007 at age 58.
Per June’s request there will be a private graveside service for family and no visitation service. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in June’s memory to the London Public Library, 20 E 1st St, London, Ohio 43140.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Online condolences may be sent to www.lynchfamilyfuneralhome.com.
