Paul Franklin Hart Jr. (Bill), May 12, 1942- December 09 2023, 81 years young, earned his wings after a brief illness. He has been reunited with the love of his life, Alta. Born and raised in Madison County on the family farm to Paul F. Hart Sr. and Ellen (Potts) Hart. Paul spent his youth helping his parents and big brother Andy on the farm. He was active in school with FFA, track, and football, from which he earned his Letterman sweater. He also lettered in track and went on to obtain many other awards, ribbons and trophies. 4-H also played a big part in Bill’s life. After graduating London High School in 1960 he went to work at International Harvester, where in his 30 years of service there, he married Alta Louise Loveless on May 8, 1965. On December 03, of 1967, they welcomed their daughter, Dawn Annette. On March 06, of 1970, they welcomed their son Christopher Keith. Paul, or Bill as he was mostly known by never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face for everyone. Along with the gift of gab, he and his wife were avid bowlers, and loved watching his children play baseball and softball driving his daughter to baton practices and competitions. During the summer him and his daughter would travel around Ohio to watch harness horse races at different fairs. Bill loved fishing and hunting and watching OSU football, basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. He was also a big Dallas Cowboy fan. After retiring from International Harvester Navistar. He was a K-Mart greeter and put another 5 years of service London Industries, now Nissen. Once he officially retired he picked up the hobby of golf and it turned into the labor of love, where he has spent the better part of the last 18 years mowing the greens. Starting out at Hickory Groves golf Course, ending at National Road Golf Course. Survived by his daughter, Dawn (John McCafferty) Bauer of London; son, Chris (Tonya) Hart of Urbana, sister-in-law: Betty Stapleton of Huber Heights; grandchildren, Michael (Erin) Peterman of Bloomingburg; Tyler Masters of London; Shelby Hart of Springfield; Haley Hart of London; Kendall McCafferty of London; Sarah Siders of London, Wesley (Rhiannon) Siders of London; 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Bill has been preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Alta. Great granddaughter, Raelynn J. Peterman, favorite coffee buddy Jerry (Jigsy) Morehart. His brother Andrew E. Hart, and his parents. Paul’s family would like to give a very special thank you to the doctors and staff at Grove City Mount Carmel. According to Paul’s wishes, he will be cremated. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Sunday, December 17, 2023, 4:00 PM at the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 124 E. High St, London.
