Roger Dale Winland, 71, of London, died Friday, March 5, 2021, at Doctors Hospital, Columbus. Roger was born August 28, 1949, in Glen Dale, West Virginia, a son of Jason and Eulalaia Ann (Truex) Winland. He served in the United States Navy for 27 months, doing 3 tours in the theater Viet Nam. He came home from the service and worked for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. Roger then drove a truck for Yellow Freight for 30 years. He loved to fish and tinkering with his cars. He was an avid CB’er with the handle “Wrong Way”. Survivors include his wife of almost 48 years, Vicki Ann (Vanover) Winland; daughters: Heather Winland of Roseville, Ohio; Jennifer (Chris) Sorrell of London; grandchildren: Dylan (Josie) Winland; Dallas Fountain; Destiny and Taylor Sorrell; great-grandchildren: Dawson & Sawyer; Gunner and Grainger; nieces, nephews, and cousins. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; children: Sara Roberts; P.J. Winland; brother: Bruce Winland, granddaughter: Rae Winland. The family invites friends to call at the Lynch Family Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 124 E. High St. London, Thursday, from 4-7 PM. where a funeral service will be held Friday, 11:00 AM, with the Reverend Jerry Poff officiating. Interment will follow in the Kirkwood Cemetery, London.
