Sharon Kay ‘Maggie” Holton, 79, of London, died Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in her residence. Maggie was born January 30, 1942, in London, Ohio, the daughter of Stanley and Flora (Tway) Johnson. She was a member of Aerie #950, London, and the First Presbyterian Church, London.
She was an avid golfer, having been owner/operator, along with her husband, Alvin, of the Hickory Grove Golf Course, London. Maggie was an avid Ohio State fan of all sports, and was also a Cleveland Browns fan. She loved Iced Tea and made the best peanut butter cookies.
She is survived by her daughters, Wendy (Larry) Bobo; Beth (Shannon) McVey; sister: Elaine (Tony) Stuthard; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Bev Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews, special friends Sandy McSeveney, and Shelly Flemming, and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Alvin Holton, March 30, 2012; daughter: Denise Maynard; brothers: Dick and Jim Johnson.
Maggie’s family invites friends to call at the First Presbyterian Church, 211 Garfield Avenue, London, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Monday, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend Desiree Youngblood officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. The church requires that masks are to be worn by those attending the services.
Memorial contributions may be made, in Maggie’s name to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692. Envelopes will be available at the church.
